The elders came last night and i stood my NEW ground!!! be proud!
by New light for you inso yes, the brothers came for "encouragement" and of course, my husband is out of town on business... so it was me and the kids.. so i did let them in, i like these brothers...these are some things we discussed.... 1. i went over how that stupid "obey" email got all this started, got me to divulge to my girlfriend how i was feeling about the whole religion.
about how at the end of the call she said that she can't associate with me anymore, and then right after that call/ 30seconds later while i'm crying a pioneer called and asked "do you consider yourself one of jeh witnesses anymore??
" and i thought that was crazy for someone to try to trap me when i was sitting crying on the phone, upset with the last call... i told them that for all purposes i am already dfed since noone will talk to me anymore, and only one friend called to see what happened, everyone else just listened to the gossip of whatever spread, and wrote me off even though i'm technically in good standing.

That was a fantastic story…..Isn’t it frustrating when you put the evidence in front of them and they pick on some lame reasoning not to admit what you have just said was true…..
I hope that the chaps that saw you keep to their word and just leave you in peace now. It’s not as if you have enough on you plate right now.

I don’t have any problems. They are fine with me, maybe there are one or two that don’t want to talk and shun. Happened once when I was working around a fading JW’s house. This couple came around to visit the people that I was working for and I felt like Patrick Swayze in the film Ghost. I was talking but no one was looking at me. Felt like picking up a coin and freaking them out.
But that is the only time that I have had problems. I work for quite a few of them and chat with them, not letting on all that I know, but asking pertinent questions about things like the changing of doctrine and dates that have come and gone.
But in all, I can’t say that they treat me too differently.

by StoneWall inafter many months of lurking and researching on oh so many different topics, doubts, concerns, and viewpoints i decided to get my feet wet and start posting.
many times i wished to contribute something to a thread but was to apprehensive to get an account.
then as time passed and i read many more of the post from various members the uneasiness subsided somewhat and my desire to proceed into previously uncharted waters grew.

How's it like... living in the South?
by Preston inhere in lovely phoenix, az there's a part of me that's tired of phoenix's one redemable feature (reasonable housing prices) and dismiss the cacti, hot temps, lackluster football teams, golfing culture and predominance of fake people with orange tans and..... ... live in a nice bungalow on a country road, havin' a truck with a gun rack, a (rainbow) confederate flag, cranking up some nice soothing wanda jackson, grow myself a big booshy moustache, wear a denim vest, get myself a bassett hound and sit on a front porch in my rocking chair while whispering to myself "it's good to own land.".
for those of you that live in the deep south... or just the regular south.... how's it treating you?
i may consider a change in living arrangements.. - preston.

It’s great. You can’t beat living in the ‘home counties’. There is beauty, money, electricity, all the things that the north don’t have.
It is the residence of where the prosperous live. Nice house, nice car, and the scenery is just exquisite. We have castles, stately homes, interesting history, running tap water, every luxury you could ask for. We are that well off we bored a huge hole in the ground and popped up in France and thought that it was a good idea to put a railway between the two of us, old discrepancies forgotten and all…….
Yes I would recommend living in the South. A bit of Heaven that costs the earth, but it is worth it to keep out the riffraff northern tribes. But even they are welcome to visit…….

Is Pedophilia Really A Huge Problem With Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus injws say they are clean and pure and undefiled and not like the world but in reality there are those that do very evil things and they either have fallen through the cracks, have gotten disciplined or disfellowshipped.. we realize that just because a person says they are a christian, it doesn't mean they will always act like one.. regarding pedophiles, do you believe that jws have a huge problem involving an infestation of pedos?

I think the problem with the JW’s is not that they have more paedophiles but more to do with the treatment of the victim. The harm is tremendous.
There is one that goes to the hall that I used to go to. The mess that guy did to his victims lives. He never got done for it by the police, even though he abused many girls as an elder, and secular teacher. Even abused his own daughter.
His still a JW…..
